Dagannoth Kings Guide
Bosses guide · Updated September 2025
The Dagannoth Kings are the triple boss under Waterbirth Island - three kings, three attack styles, and a loot table built around the best rings in the game. The teleport lands at 2909, 4384 inside the cavern.
Killing them efficiently means rotating through the kings or camping the one your gear beats - each has a signature ring drop worth farming.
The three kings
Dagannoth Supreme (2265) attacks with ranged - pray missiles and it mostly folds. Dagannoth Prime (2266) is the magic user - pray magic. Dagannoth Rex (2267) melees - pray melee and it is helpless.
The optimal solo rotation kills the kings in sequence: pray against whichever is active while you burn the one you are geared against.
Which to farm
Each king has its own drop table: Supreme drops the archers' ring, Prime drops the seers' ring, and Rex drops the berserker ring - plus shared pets (prime jr, rex jr, supreme jr), the dragon hatchet, and mud battlestaff.
Access and logistics
The cavern is multi-combat - the three kings will all engage you, so either pray-switch actively or use the safe spots near the water's edge. A tribrid setup with all three styles covers the rotation best; single-style camping on Rex is the easy way.
Solo vs team
Solo tribrid is the classic method: pray against whichever king is attacking you, swap to the counter-style weapon, and cycle all three. It is mechanically rich but slow.
A team splits the triangle: one player per king, each praying against their own target. Kills per hour roughly triple, and the ring drops - berserker, warrior, seers, archers - hit the team pool faster.
- Bring all three combat styles for the rotation.
- Prime hits hardest unprotected - pray magic on the swap.
- Bank runs are long; bring a full supply trip.
The ring drops
Each king drops a signature ring: Rex drops the berserker and warrior rings, Prime drops the seers ring, Supreme drops the archers ring. The dagannoth bones and hides fill out a table that pays even between the rare rolls.
The kings respawn on independent timers, so a full-triangle kill rotation keeps all three on cooldown - the efficient loop is Rex first, then Prime, then Supreme, repeat.
The subterranean approach
The kings sit in the Waterbirth dungeon - a ladder descent through dagannoth-infested tunnels. The teleport lands inside, skipping the approach, but the room itself is the exam: three kings, one shared aggro, spinolyps on the walls.
Bring a pet rock or a friend for the door mechanics if you are navigating manually - some doors need two weights or a partner tile.
Session summary
Three kings, three styles, four ring drops - DKs is the tribrid exam of mid-tier bossing. Bring the full triangle or bring a team, and let the rings fund the next upgrade.
The pets too
Each king has its own pet - Rex Jr, Prime Jr, and Supreme Jr - rolling on their individual tables alongside the rings. A full DK collection means four rings plus three pets across three fights, which is why it stays one of the most-farmed spots on the server.
