Vorkath Guide
Bosses guide · Updated September 2025
Vorkath is the undead blue dragon on Ungael - a long fight with predictable patterns and a drop table built for volume rather than lottery. The teleport lands at 2272, 4051 at the dock; sail across and the fight starts when you wake the beast.
It is the mid-tier boss that funds everything else: consistent dragon bones, dart and bolt tips, hides, rune items, and seeds at every kill.
The fight
Vorkath alternates between dragonfire bolts and a melee/ranged attack mix - pray appropriately and the regular phase is rhythm. The signature phases are the breaks in that rhythm:
The acid phase locks your movement and floods tiles with fire - kill the spawn or take chip damage. The spawn phase hatches a zombified spawn that must be killed or cratered. The prayer-drain phase switches off your prayers - re-flick them or eat the damage.
Dragonfire and defence
Anti-dragonfire gear is mandatory: a dragonfire shield or ward plus extended antifires blocks the breath entirely. Without it, Vorkath's fire bolts hit through anything.
Ranged is the efficient style - blowpipe or dragon hunter crossbow - because melee exposes you to the melee swipes that hit hardest.
The drops
Vorkath pays in materials: dragon bones by the stack, dart and bolt tips by the dozen, hides, seeds, rune items, and the uncommon big ticket rolls (skeletal visage, vorki pet, vorkath's head). Every tradeable drop links to its GE page below - price a full trip before you commit.
The death-walk and acid phases
The zombie spawn phase is the infamous one: Vorkath freezes you, summons a zombie, and you must kill it or guide it into Vorkath to stop the damage-over-time prayer drain. The counter is Crumble Undead - the undead spell one-hits the zombie.
The acid phase poisons the floor tiles - walk on them and you take continuous damage. Learn to walk the un-poisoned tiles only; the fight is a tile puzzle inside a dragon fight.
An honest note on drops
Same story as hydra: this server's Vorkath does not currently drop the OSRS signatures - no visage, no Vorkath head mount, no skeletal visage. The table below shows what he actually pays, which is a dragon-and-rune volume farm rather than the jackpot boss OSRS players know.
The fight itself is still worth learning - the mechanics are the hardest solo-dragon check on the server.
The undead check
Vorkath is undead - salve amulet works on him, and Crumble Undead one-hits the zombie spawn. Those two interactions are the difference between a clean kill and a chaotic one.
His dragonfire bolts are stronger than a normal dragon's - super antifires plus a dragonfire shield is the standard mitigation, and protect-from-magic softens what the shield misses.
Why the fight is still worth it
Even without the signature drops, Vorkath is the best dragon-mechanics trainer on the server: the dragonfire management, the zombie spawn, the acid tiles, and the freeze-release are a four-part exam that shows up again in harder content.
The volume drops - dragon bones, hides, runes, and bolt tips - pay a steady hourly rate for a fight you can solo on repeat.
