Kaal-Ket-Jor Guide

Bosses guide · Updated September 2025

Kaal-Ket-Jor is the server's custom boss - a Kronos import at 1367, 10210, 1 that plays like a mini-raid encounter compressed into a single room. It is the boss you fight when you want mechanics that reward movement instead of a prayer-check.

The fight runs on three attack patterns: vial throws that bomb your tile, big cleaves that hit everyone nearby, and tornado adds that chase you while it keeps attacking.

The three attacks

The vial throw (20% of attack rolls) fires two projectiles at every player's current tile - a bomb graphic lands, then secondary explosions and magic hits if you have not moved. The counter is simple: step off the tile the moment you see the throw.

The big cleave (40%) slashes a graphic across a 3-tile arc around the target - it hits everyone in range, so melee range is dangerous on the pull.

The small cleave (40%) is a basic melee hit - but once the tornado cooldown finishes, each cast also spawns a tornado per player: a chasing add that hits up to 20 magic damage four times over 25 ticks. Kill or outrun the tornados before the next one joins.

Positioning the fight

The whole encounter is movement - the vial throws are unavoidable if you stand still, the cleaves punish stacking, and the tornados force constant repositioning. Spread out in a team, solo it with prayer coverage on the magic tornado hits, and keep the boss mid-room so you always have escape tiles.

The drops

A custom boss gets a custom table: Kaal-Ket-Jor's drops are resolved below from the server's live drop data - every tradeable linked to its GE page.

Surviving the tornado phase

The tornadoes are the fight-defining mechanic: once the cooldown expires they spawn one per player and chase for 25 ticks each. The counter is deliberate movement - kite them around the room edges while the boss stays mid, and they despawn on their own timer.

If the tornadoes stack with a vial throw, choose the tornado dodge over the vial dodge - the vial damage is one shot, the tornado is four.

Solo vs team

Solo it and you carry every mechanic yourself - doable with prayer coverage and constant movement. A small team splits the pressure but adds the stacking problem: vial throws hit everyone standing on the same tile, so spread out and the cleaves become manageable too.

Team fight notes

A party spreads the vial-throw targets thin - two players standing apart means each bomb only threatens one of you. The cleaves still hit everyone in the arc, so spread matters more than proximity.

Tornadoes spawn per-player, so a full team means a full tornado wave. Assign a kiter to drag the pack while others keep DPS on the boss.

Learning the attack rolls

The 20/40/40 attack table means no two attacks are guaranteed - but the distribution punishes standing still: vials punish static play 1-in-5 times, cleaves punish melee clustering nearly half the time. Movement is the only universal counter.

After a few kills you learn to read the animation windup - the vial throw has a distinct lob motion that gives you a tick to move before it lands.
