Slayer Guide
Skills guide · Updated September 2025
Slayer is the engine of the whole account. Masters assign monsters to kill; kills on-task pay slayer XP, kill-count progress, and points toward a reward shop stocked with unlocks, extensions, and the cannon. On this server the full ten-master lineup works, plus a parallel wilderness track through Krystilia in Edgeville.
The data is real: around 125 tasks loaded from the same JSON tables the server reads, each bound to the actual NPCs that count toward it.
Masters and task tiers
Ten masters cover every bracket: Turael and Spria hand out trivially easy tasks for fresh accounts; Mazchna, Vannaka, and Chaeldar cover mid-game; Nieve, Steve, Duradel, and Konar assign the hard and boss-tier work; Krystilia in Edgeville runs the wilderness list exclusively.
Tasks come in four tiers - easy, medium, hard, and boss - each with its own base points and minimum combat level (3 / 60 / 80 / 100). Boss tasks let you choose how many kills to take, and the choice is yours at assignment time.
| Master | Location hint | Tier coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Turael / Spria | Burthorpe / Taverley | Easy tasks, no combat req |
| Mazchna / Vannaka | Canifis / Edgeville dungeon | Easy + medium |
| Chaeldar | Zanaris | Medium tasks |
| Nieve / Steve | Tree Gnome Stronghold | Hard tasks |
| Duradel | Shilo Village | Hard + boss tier |
| Konar | Mount Karuulm | Hard + boss, drop-boosted |
| Krystilia | Edgeville | Wilderness tasks only |
Points, blocks, and unlocks
Each completed task pays base points scaled by tier - 5/15/25/100 for easy/medium/hard/boss - with milestone streaks multiplying it. Spend them in the rewards menu: cancel a task for 30, block one permanently for 100, unblock, extend tasks you like, or buy the permanent unlocks (auto-finishers, task extensions, new task types).
The shop sells slayer rings, broad bolts and arrows in 250-packs, the herb sack, rune pouch, and the dwarf cannon - the cannon alone justifies the early grind.
Wilderness slayer
Krystilia at 3109, 3515 in Edgeville assigns only wilderness monsters and tracks them separately - wilderness tasks completed, wilderness slayer points, and her own shop (id 24) stocked against that balance. Wilderness tasks also drop emblems on kills, which is where wildy money is made.
Prefer-wilderness is a toggle - set it and the standard masters bias their assignments toward wilderness spawns too.
- Wilderness tasks pay a second point currency with its own shop.
- Emblems drop on wilderness-task kills - sellable on the GE.
- Krystilia tasks are the fastest points per hour if you can survive the risk.
The slayer helm and finishers
The slayer helmet - assembled from a black mask plus earmuffs, nose peg, facemask, and spiny helm, or imbued for +15% ranged/magic - is the single biggest combat boost in the skill. It only works against NPCs bound to your current task, which is why the task table matters more than the monster itself.
Gargoyles smash automatically once you unlock the finisher, rockslugs get auto-salted the same way, and the other finisher unlocks sit in the rewards menu at their real point costs.
The pet and tracker
The task tracker varps keep your current task visible on login - task name, remaining count, points, and blocked slots all restore on relog. Abberant spectres and the other pet-table tasks roll the slayer pet at their own odds.
