Getting Started on PvP RSPS
Server guide · Updated September 2025
PvP RSPS is an Old School RuneScape private server built around a permanent faction war between Armadyl and Bandos. You spawn in Edgeville at 3086, 3496 - the server's home hub - with banks, shops, and the Grand Exchange a few steps apart. This guide walks through what to do in your first session so you're not standing in Edgeville wondering what happens next.
The world resets on a seven-day war cycle, so early on your job is simple: gear up, pick a side, and help your faction hold control points before the timer runs out.
Your first minutes in Edgeville
The moment you log in, the faction selection interface opens on its own - you can't skip it, and you shouldn't want to. Read the Armadyl vs Bandos guide before you click, because the choice is persistent and team balance rules can block the more popular side.
Edgeville sits inside a safe zone: a rectangle roughly covering the town where the Attack option is hidden entirely. Nobody can hurt you there. The moment you step north past the ditch or take a teleport, that protection is gone.
- Bank, shops, and the Grand Exchange booth are all inside the safe zone.
- The teleport spell in your spellbook opens the server teleport interface.
- Your previous teleport in each category is remembered - re-using it is one click.
- Vote and store links are on the website; founder packs are time-limited per war cycle.
The teleport interface
Almost everything on this server is reached through the teleport interface rather than by walking. Open it from your spellbook and you get three tabs: Wilderness, Minigames, and Bosses. Every entry lands you at a fixed, working coordinate - the wilderness tab alone has fourteen destinations from the Edgeville ditch to the Lava Dragon Isle.
Two things worth knowing early: the interface remembers the last teleport you used in each tab, so repeat trips are fast, and teleports are blocked while you're tele-blocked or in combat in the same situations as OSRS.
Gearing up and making money
The fastest early path is combat training into Slayer. Slayer masters assign tasks from their own tier tables - easy tasks for new accounts, boss-tier tasks once you pass combat level 100 - and every kill on task builds slayer points for the reward shop.
The Grand Exchange is a live market inside the safe zone. You can place buy and sell offers for thousands of items, and prices move against the real OSRS market, which is why this site tracks them. If you get a rare drop, check its page here before you dump it - margins between buy and sell offers are where flippers make their money.
- Start on easy slayer tasks to build combat stats and points together.
- Sell valuable drops on the GE instead of alching them - high alch is a floor, not a ceiling.
- Check the movers and alch tools on this site for quick money-making ideas.
What to do after you can fight
From there the server opens up fast: God Wars Dungeon for your first real uniques, Barrows for cheap mid-tier armour sets, wilderness bosses if you like risk, and the faction war itself - control points in the Wilderness, Varrock, and Barbarian Village all pay faction score while your side holds them.
Join the Discord linked in the footer for war-callouts, update notes, and to find a raiding party for Chambers of Xeric or Theatre of Blood. Both raids are reachable from the Bosses teleport tab.
Your first hour checklist
- Pick your faction at spawn - it decides your allies and your war side.
- Check the Bosses teleport tab to see every fight target up front.
- Start slayer tasks to build combat stats and points together.
- Learn the GE - the whole economy runs through it.
Common first mistakes
Do not skip the faction onboarding: players who wander into the wilderness without a faction get killed by players who did. Do not skip the GE either - this server runs on the economy, and the players who get rich fastest are the ones who learn the market before the mechanics.
Where the money starts
First cash comes from skilling materials and boss drops sold on the GE - smithing bars, raw fish, herbs, and anything the drop tables list as tradeable. Watch the movers page to see what the market is paying a premium for this week.
The founders packs on the store page skip the early grind if you want gear immediately, but nothing in them is unavailable through play - every item on the table above drops somewhere.
Understanding the seven-day war cycle
The server runs on a weekly war clock: for seven days both factions fight over control points, and at the end the losing side is reset while the winners keep their progress. That reset is the point of the server - it is why factions matter and why the last days of a war week get intense.
The cycle favours you: join early for days to build. Join late and you spawn mid-fight - fine too, since only the losing faction pays the reset.
A sensible first boss path
Once you can survive a fight, the progression reads like this: giant mole and King Black Dragon to learn boss mechanics safely, Barrows for your first armour set, God Wars Dungeon for real uniques, then the wildy bosses once you accept losing what you carry. Zulrah, Vorkath, and the raids sit at the top of the ladder for when your gear and prayer flicks are solid.
Every boss on that path is documented in this guides section with its real drop table, so check the relevant guide before your first attempt rather than learning the mechanics by dying.
