About Opal
An Opal is a semi-precious gemstone, the lowest tier of cut gemstone in Old School RuneScape. It is used to craft low-level opal jewellery, including opal rings, necklaces, amulets, bracelets, and bolt tips. Opals are obtained by mining or cracking open gem rocks, as well as through bird's nests and certain monster drops. Because opal jewellery is easy to make and provides beginner bonuses, the Opal is a common starting gem for players training Crafting and low-level Magic enchantments. Opal jewellery is often the first enchanted jewellery players make when learning Crafting and Magic. Opals can also be used in the Crafting skill to create low-level rings, necklaces, and bracelets.
