About Staff of the Dead
The staff of the dead is a one-handed magic staff dropped by the Kraken boss that requires 75 Attack and 75 Magic to wield. It provides a 15% magic damage bonus and lets the wielder autocast Flames of Zamorak, while its special attack halves all melee damage taken for one minute — making it a premier defensive option in PvP. Because it combines real offensive stats with a unique defensive spec, the staff of the dead is a staple of magic PvP loadouts and one of the most traded high-tier staves in the game. It also serves as the base item for the toxic staff of the dead upgrade.
