The draconic visage is a rare drop from various dragon-type monsters used to create the dragonfire shield — the best anti-dragon shield in the game. Because the DFS is essential for dragon content, the visage's price is essentially the finished shield's price minus the cost of an anti-dragon shield. Visages are rare drops from sources like metal dragons and the king black dragon, which keeps supply limited, and the item trades as a direct proxy for the shield it creates. It is one of the most famous raw materials in the game and a key part of the dragon-slaying economy.
