About Basalt
Basalt is mined from basalt rocks in the Salt Mine beneath Weiss after completing the Making Friends with My Arm quest. It requires level 72 Mining and grants five experience, though mining enhancers do not help. The rock reacts with te, urt, or efh salts to make icy and stony basalt, and large quantities are used to attune portal teleports. Snowflake, just outside the mine, will note basalt free of charge.
